About this Episode

In this episode, I interview Brooke Paulin, an entrepreneurial powerhouse in the health, fitness, and nutrition world, who helps business professionals to pursue their health and wellness in order to boost their performance in the workplace, and center themselves at home. While Brooke was always drawn to the fitness industry, it was her struggles with ADHD and depression in college that opened her eyes to the healing power of exercise and nutrition, ultimately challenging her knowledge and perspective of both health and wellness, and the catalyst to pursuing her passion to help others through her work. Brooke set her sights on Colorado and began working for 24 Hour Fitness in a management and sales capacity where she acquired valuable knowledge and skills in a corporate environment, and met her husband. Together, they opened their own boutique gym, with a focused vision of providing clients with a personalized, one-on-one approach to achieving their goals: one client, one trainer, one goal. Just as life had begun to get comfortable, all of their progress and prosperity was challenged by the 2008 recession.

Listen to our interview, filled with the wisdom of a humble and honest career woman and mother to five, currently travelling the US in an RV. Brooke shares her powerful perspective on the beauty in the broken, on the boulders life puts in our path, and the ability to look back on those moments with gratitude for how they shaped and refined us for the better. She speaks to the challenges of being truly present for our children in a world that tells mothers to multitask, and encourages the mothers in the trenches, still finding their way in the face of societal pressure. This episode will leave you feeling inspired to feed your spirit and your mind, and how changing seemingly small aspects of your daily activity in pursuit of the long term can transition your Act I into your Act II.
