Own Your Calendar to Own Your Life with Kara Lynch Guthrie
About this Episode
In this episode, I interview my dear friend and Managing Partner at Smart Wellness Associates, Kara Lynch Guthrie, who left an established career of over twenty years in the media to pursue her own path to success through her entrepreneurial journey. Kara’s impressive work ethic was developed at a young age when she began juggling clocking hours on the sports field and at the family business. And, while the competitive family dynamic and family business began to establish her grit, it also propelled her to attain respect for her own contributions to the industry and to create her own professional identity beyond her father’s famous name. After completing her Communications degree at USC, Kara established a name of her own as a powerhouse in radio, starting with a ‘lead book’ otherwise known as The Yellow Pages, and coming full circle as the Vice President of BCA Radio, attaining six-figures before the age of twenty-five.
Listen to our interview, filled with applicable wisdom and the silver lining of life’s safe-holds being uprooted. Kara offers tried and true advice of the importance of failure in life and in business, on raising resilient and driven children, and on the necessity of adaptability and being open to change. This episode will leave you with hope that you can in fact ‘start over’, even after an economic recession or in the midst of a global pandemic. You will walk away from this episode feeling encouraged to intentionally schedule your calendar and take ownership of it, and with practical know-how on successfully shifting from a corporate career to an entrepreneurial career, all while having more time with your family than you thought was possible.
